A new era for Ohio's county law libraries begins: Governor signs HB420

The language for a new system of governance for Ohio's county law libraries was inserted into HB420 which passed the Ohio Senate on December 2. The Ohio House concurred in the Senate's amendments on December 17. Governor Strickland signed HB420 on December 30 and it goes into effect immediately. We will continue to operate in most ways as we always have throughout 2009, but our new public Board is to be appointed by July 1. Beginning on January 1, 2010 the new system will go into effect.
