Finally...a county law library bill?:
Sometime in the next few weeks, we may be able to tell you that legislation has been introduced enacting a new system of governance for county law libraries and ensuring their continued existence to serve the courts, local governments, the public, and the legal community. Version #4 of draft legislation is expected back from the Ohio Legislative Service Commission shortly. Our lobbyist tells us that it may either be introduced or be appended to another bill in May. The hope is that it will then be enacted by the time the General Assembly goes on its recess in June. We will keep you all posted as developments unfold and let you know if your support is needed with our local legislators!
